Research Grants

About the Program

Open source is how the best ideas spread. The SeaCloud Grants program exists to remove the biggest bottleneck standing between a great idea and a shipped model: compute. We allocate free infrastructure credits to builders who are pushing multimodal AI forward in the open.

Who qualifies

We're looking for people who are genuinely building, not pitching. Academic background doesn't matter. What matters is that your work is open, your goals are concrete, and you're the kind of person who ships. Independent developers, researchers, and small teams are all welcome to apply.

How it works

Send us a short note at grants@seacloud.ai describing what you're working on, what you're trying to accomplish, and a link to your repository or any prior work. We keep the process lightweight on purpose, with no lengthy forms and no committees. If it's a good fit, we'll get back to you quickly.

From past grantees

Having access to SeaCloud compute changed the pace of our work entirely. We went from waiting days on training runs to iterating in hours. It directly shaped the quality of what we were able to release.
Alex Kim, OpenVision
I had the ideas but not the resources to test them at scale. The grant closed that gap. It let me focus on the research instead of worrying about infrastructure costs.
